Oh, the things I do for Jason Sudeikis' soon-to-be wife. Almost everyone dumped all over this, obviously forgetting the last 4 "Paranormal Activity" films, everything made by James Wan, the Poltergeist reboot.
..etc. What we have here is a fun little retread of "Flatliners" with maybe a little "Brainstorm", "Re-Animator", "Pet Sematary" and "Deep Blue Sea" tossed into the mix, a decent enough cast, but it's under-cooked and chopped to hell to achieve a PG-13.
It feels like there was SO much potential at some point, but, alas...it's not on the screen. *Sigh*...
