Review of The Last Waltz (1978) by Stephen C — 14 Feb 2008
As the film says Play Loud!!!!
Scorsese captures the Bands last concert in 1976 and comes up with one of the best concert films in the process.
The Band deliver a knockout setlist including "The Night they drove Old Dixie Down" and the Wonderful "it makes no difference".
The key also are the great specail guests Including Neil Young,Joni Mitchell,Van Morrisonand of course Bob Dylan.
All give show stopping performances neatly laced with interviews with The Band .
The film is all the more poigniant since some of the cast have passed away since the film came out.
All in all if you dont like this concert film then you dont like music as its a classic of the genre.
