Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Jess M — 28 Jan 2008
It's sad that this movie caused such a stir when it was released. I have three theories as to why:
1. The portrayal of Jesus as fallible.
2. The portrayal of Judas as Jesus's buddy.
3.The portrayal of Mary Magdalene as sexy.
None of these complaints are worth much more than an eye-roll. In fact, the Jesus story has rarely been more compelling with these complications thrown into the mix.
