Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Kamil K — 04 Jan 2010
A remarkable film that offers so many debates and ideas; made more so by its problems as much as its plus points. Even though it was Scorsese's intention, I think it's let down by the westernization, Gabriel's awful score, Keitel's brash performance, Bowie's akward readings.
But Scorsese does bravely present Kazantzakis' ideas and coaxes a phoenominal performance from Willem Dafoe as Jesus.
