Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Victoria V — 25 Sep 2010
A very interestingly cast and thoughtful piece that made me wonder how my parents and their friends managed to get so entirely worked up and offended by it. Relatively true to the gospel story, although (with pretty good precedent :) a little heavy-handed towards the end.
At this point Dan Brown has accustomed us all to imagining Christ with a "normal" life; the only other offensive thing here might be the nudity, but if a boob here and there bothers you, you're going to be short of good art across the board.
