Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by John Tristan H — 23 Feb 2012
I honestly was skeptical of this movie and not for the reasons that most people would think. I was wary of Willem Defoe as Jesus Christ. What I saw was, honestly better than I could have thought. The thought-provoking tale of the rise of Jesus to the end where he must make his final sacrifice is honestly breath-taking.
While I understand that it may offend those with different tastes, it still stands a film that can invoke more thought and discussion about Jesus himself than Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ", which focused too heavily on the death of Christ, rather than his deeds.
