This is my review of the film as a work of art. As a theological work, it has me split. On the one hand it's a very earnest attempt to understand the duality of Christ, who was fully God and fully human.
But at times it is off base and gets some things seriously wrong. Still, I think it's the most ambitious portrayal of Christ in Hollywood history and forgoes the pageantry and stoicness of other Biblical epics to present a Christ who laughs, cries and comes across as fully human and yet fully God.
