Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Peter H — 23 Apr 2011
I didn't like Passion of the Christ at all, but I love this movie. It dipicts Jesus Christ's life from the temptation's til his crucifixion while showing his trails, not as a god among men, but as a human who shows agression, anger, sadness, emotion, you know the bad stuff the bible left out cept for the money changers in the temple.
It's a very controversial movie but I guess that's what makes it so good. Movies like this should never pull punches, because they lose a lot in which would make em great. Dafoe is a very underrated actor, honestly most of the movies I've seen him in are really good and really well done, I'm surprised none of his movies have ever been given a chance at a oscar, this movie is a prime example of his ability.
My only probelm really is Judas, he dosent seem quite there. Idk. I have to say I love the last half hour of the movie, I don't want to spoil anything which is why I didn't post the review strictly on facebook but, it's a very different idea to what Jesus would be like if he was forgiven by ''God'' from the crucifix and lived the life of a man.
Unless you would be offended by this movie, I suggest you watch it cause it is awesome and everything Passion is not.
