Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by George E — 26 Apr 2012
I wish I could say it was the story, the acting, the cinematography - yes, they were all fine. More than fine. And a beautiful performance by Willem Defoe. But perhaps more than anything, the wonderfully haunting music, brought together by Peter Gabriel from around the world.
Unforgettable. But I would still direct you to the novel. One of many great works from Nikos Kazantzakis, one of the best writers ever, in my opinion.
