Review of The Last Station (2009) by Scot C — 02 Jan 2011
"Like a man who looks after the sheep!".
Well, I know a little more about Leo Tolstoy now. But after watching this film, I feel there is a lot more to him that I would'nt mind another director having a crack at it, and preferbly Russian. This is one of the best drama's i've seen all year of 2010, it is beautifully shot, and the cast is top notch. Christopher Plummer totally deserved his Oscar nomination, and this is possibly his greatest performance. If you can get past the English accents, with this Russian story, you've got a film with great depth, and a life at home of an icon. Its an emotional story, and the filmmakers sure get the audience where they intend them to be. Its a beautiful film, with incredibly strong performances that complete this story. If you're a sensitive guy like me, It will get you tugging at those heart strings. Tug, tug.
