Review of The Last Starfighter (1984) by Rajneel S — 20 Sep 2007
Like "Iron Eagle", this teenage fantasy affirmation film is a marked relic of the 1980's and its hopeful youth culture (not to mention the severely out-dated computer graphics). The second half of the film is a fun, 80's-style, hokey science fiction.
..but the first half is one of the most genuine and moving teen dramas I've ever seen. A strange mix, pity the magic doesn't last till the end. Still, its an extremely clever concept and that aspect hasn't been topped yet.
