Review of The Last Stand (2013) by Ryan S — 10 Jul 2013
This is Custard's Last Stand folks, what you're about to witness is an aging action star doing what he can after being the Governator for a few years. It's like Smokey & The Bandit on steroids amongst a Mexican standoff with the acting being more pitiful than a Ben Stiller standup comedy routine.
You honestly can't take any of the actors seriously in this so-called western comedy, not even the legendary Johnny Knoxville couldn't hold up his end of the humor. The plot is very basic with no multiple subplots to throw you off, the " suspect " car was too much James Bond and had the feeling of a television commercial.
Peter Stormare plays Burrell the same way Dennis Hopper played Howard Payne in Speed, it was just sad that they turned the impossible into possible things and vise versa. Between the god awful acting, shitty chase scenes and lets face it the directing wasn't all that great either, there's an entertaining movie somewhere within the hour and 47 minutes time frame.
Rent it and you'll understand what I am talking about with the whole " suspect " character, then you'll be regretting the day you ever saw The Last Stand..
