Review of The Last Seduction (1994) by Donovan D — 30 Jan 2008
A near neo-noir (say that 15 times fast) about one hell of an evil woman. evil, but still somehow always right. its a pretty interesting little film, though not necessarily up my particular alley. fiorentino is, as everyone says about her in this film, pretty good in her role as the deadly lover.
the dialog is passable, not inspired, but the psycho-sexual implications in the script are its real strong point and might make even frued blush a bit. fiorentino being certainly the most masculine of the characters, Berg in the highly feminine category, and the big reveal at the end (which I wont give up) that throws a wrench in the whole thing make us wonder about gender roles, not to mention the scene that deals with the black mans genitalia.
twisted and dark. if those 2 things make a good story for you then youre likely to love this.
