Whilst this film semi reflects the budget from which it was made, it's a great story. The producers did a great job making this more of an Art film than a sexploitation flick which was the plan of the studio.
Linda Fiorentino is fantastic as the femme fatale and protagonist. Maybe Kevin Smith saw this and her acting which led her to be cast in Dogma.
