Review of The Last Picture Show (1971) by Grant S — 01 Jul 2013
So all in all, The Last Picture Show is one of the best movies of 1971, one of the best movies of the 1970's, and one of the best movies of all time for that matter. Peter Bogdanovich is a genius, he's another one of those directors who can direct a wide variety of movies, he can direct hysterical movies, such as What's Up Doc, and he can direct serious movies as well, such as the very one that I am commenting about now.
The Last Picture Show is a must see for part of your film education, and it must be seen as it is an excellent film. I don't see how anyone could dislike this, of course, it's not for children as there is some sex and some profanity in it, but if you are old enough to see it, then see it, as you will most likely be astounded by it.
Do yourself a very big favor and watch this movie, as most movies don't get any better than this, of course there are many movies that do get better than this one, but there are more movies that don't then movies that do.
