Review of The Last of the Mohicans (1992) by Christian A — 14 Dec 2012
''The Last of the Mohicans'' is a fine historical-action film from Michael Mann concerning the French/Indian war in 1757. It is based on James Fenimore Cooper's novel of the same name.
As far as entertainment value is concerned, it's lively stuff, but I found myself only really admiring the sweeping cinematography, score, direction and production articles rather than the actual storyline.
The battle sequences were my favourite parts. Daniel Day-Lewis was alright in the lead, but I wouldn't describe his performance as anything to behold. All in all, a good movie to check out if you have the chance.
Recommended.
