Review of The Last Legion (2007) by Adam K — 17 Aug 2008
This was better than I expected it to be, and there were some solid elements in it. That said, it failed to acheive its goals and ranks beneath most of the movies it attempts to immitate. King Arthur (2004) was better at telling a more ancient version of the King Arthur legend.
Excalibur (1981) was better with the merlin angle. The Thirteenth Warrior (1999) was a better movie for a foreign warrior meshing with a western troupe. Thomas Sangster, playing the young ceasar character did a great job holding up the role and making you believe he had royal blood.
Its a renter, and not one you'd invite people over to see.
