Review of The Last King of Scotland (2006) by Matt R — 01 Nov 2009
Forest Whitaker and James McAvoy team up well in this pulsating, gripping, moving and heart-felt tale, about a young Scottish doctor on a Ugandan medical mission who gets heavily involved in the life of one of the world's most barbaric figures/leaders: Idi Amin.
Though not completely factual, this film gives the viewer a good enough feel for what life was like in Uganda under such a tyrant; who Whitaker portrays really well, in one of the best individual performance's I've seen in a while.
