Review of The Last King of Scotland (2006) by Mark L — 13 Jun 2011
After listening to the screenwriter on the Creative Screenwriting podcast, I thought I'd enjoy this film, but that's an understatement. This is a very powerful (and more disturbing than I'd imagined), well done film.
Strong direction and powerful performances across the board. The screenplay, surprising and seductive. And with art direction, cinematography and a score that illustrates and supports the period and setting without being heavy-handed.
Highly recommend.
