Review of The Last House on the Left (2009) by Marvin C — 07 Aug 2010
Gore-rape was obviously a big selling point of this movie from the producer and director. This movie tries to make up in gore what it lacks in real suspense. I really think this remake could have been done alot better in the hands of the right director.
The movie had so much potential in that it had a lonely house in the woods on a stormy night full of homicidal strangers. Imagine the fear and intensity that alone could have provided if done right. Instead most of the time the viewer quickly found where the killers were, losing that intensity.
this movie is alot like a slow car that has alot of cosmetic add ons (gore)in order to try to make it look like a more powerful sleek vehicle. some people will like it others will see beyond the huge wing under its 120 HP engine.
