Review of The Last House on the Left (1972) by Jean-Paul S — 10 May 2009
Considering the fact that Wes Craven was an absolute nobody before making this film, I can't criticize it for being too simple or obvious, and certainly nobody can deny it of its power. Nowadays this sort of material feels routine, but to be made in '72, you've gotta admire Craven's fearless approach to controversy.
