Review of The Last Exorcism (2010) by Nick O — 24 Aug 2012
Over-done and far too easy, "The Last Exorcism" establishes proper set-up but falls flat on its face when asked to do something innovative. Respect "Blair Witch Project", "Paranormal Activity" and "The Exorcist" for giving it their all; the forgettable "Last Exorcism" teases and soon devolves into a series of harebrained shocks that hardly lead anyplace.
The last half hour is when the movie finally comes into its own, but why with these faux-docu flicks is the first hour made into an early breaking point?
