Review of The Last Emperor (1987) by Ian F — 01 Mar 2008
Masterpiece is what describes this film in one word. Probably one of the best films of Chinese history ever made. Its a long film, but it has to be. It covers a lot of ground charting China's change during the War Periods, Japanese Occupation and the Cultural Revolution and what its like for Pu-Yi to go from Emperor to Criminal and from Criminal to Citizen.
