One of the great examples of "Epic Cinema".
Bernardo Bertolucci is surely one of the masters of the epic cinema, and this film, which may be one of the last epic films, in my opinion.
Bertolucci tells the tale of Pu Yi, the Last Emperor of China with such meticulous detail, it is like you are there in the Forbidden City.
Well Deserved of the Nine Academy Awards it has won.
A superb piece of epic cinema.
