A sweeping epic that seems so far fetched it could never be true... until you realize that it IS true! The movie is absolutely gorgeous and masterfully crafted. It was the first western movie given permission by the Chinese gov't to shoot in The Forbidden City.
As a student of history, I found the movie fascinating.
