Review of The Last Emperor (1987) by Luis Angel G — 10 Mar 2009
I really wanted to love it, but after a fantastic first half Bertolucci's Chinese epic descends into forgettable vignettes of the life of an interesting character that loses more and more power until the credits roll.
Still, worth watching because of the director's signature "weird sex" scenes.
