Absolutely loved this gem of a movie? In the starting you enjoy the grandeur of China?s monumental Forbidden city?the innocence of the little last emperor?the movie switches nicely from flashback to present?thanks to the great editing?the symbolic OPEN THE DOOR?.

Shots in the movie were simply amazing?gona stay in memory for a long time?.English accent was also carried along nicely by all the actors which is usually the major backdrop of foreign movies?.The movie also felt great since I have been reading a lot about Asia especially China and Japan?and getting to hear Hirohito?s radio speech?Mao?s public demonstrations were sheer words coming to life? This was the reason why I could not move from my place after the movie ended? which is a rare phenomena with me?as I was expecting more of this? Can go on writing about this movie but the whole character of the movie can be seen in the shot where the emperor picks up the tennis ball?the way he picks up the ball?that?s the moment when it struck the highest quality note a movie can ever hit?it shows the frustration?the youth?s love for simple pleasures of life?a human being forced into riddles of life at an early stage?you gotta watch it?
