My 3rd favorite movie of all time. I give this five stars, and that's saying a lot because I rarely give five stars. John Lone is perfect as a naive former emperor of China who, through his numerous experiences, becomes a wise old comrade of the new People's Republic.
The music is amazing, and the cinematography in the Forbidden City is breathtaking. To earn a full 5th star, a movie has to have a solid ending and this movie does just that.
