Review of The Last Castle (2001) by Jace A — 12 Jul 2007
A wasteland of cliches. A mundane pseudo heart-tugger that attempts to obligate the viewer by waving an American flag. Think of Joaquin Phoenix's jealous emperor character and take away his jaw clenching stubbornness and his shattered and frightening psyche and add a mickey mouse persona and 40 pounds and you have James Gandolfini playing the most gentile prison warden ever in a poor man's Shawshank Redemption.
