The last 30 minutes are very good and an absolutely sad, downbeat ending is what makes "The Last American Virgin" still remarkable 30 years after its production. That said, it's a waste that this plot is hidden at the end of a weak 80's raunchy comedy.
The twist is an unquestionable upgrade, but the sloppy first part and lack of time won't let us get so involved, sensitized, with the characters as we could.
