Review of The Land That Time Forgot (1974) by Michael T — 05 Jul 2008
Doug McClure vs. Dinosaurs round 1.
Amicus had been one of the competetitors with Hammer back in the 1960s. In the mid-late 1970s, Amicus released a number of films based on the still-popular writings of Edgar Rice Burroughs. This film was the first one in the series and MGM/UA's 'Midnight Movie' collection will allow you to buy it on DVD complete with its sequel, THE PEOPLE THAT TIME FORGOT.
The FX are cheasy, the dialogue is laughable, and one has to have the ability to tolerate Doug McClure towatch this film. Apaarently, in England, hating Doug McClure is a national pasttime.
