Review of The Lake House (2006) by Ella A — 03 Jul 2010
I saw this movie a while back, when it was in theaters... and I for the life of me cannot remember anything about it other then the general idea. Which presents perfectly the type of film it truly is: completely unmemorable in every way.
But, wait... I lied. I do remember one other thing, and it's nothing you'll be shocked to hear. I'm talking of course about how replacing Keanu Reeves with one of the puppet actors in 'Team America: World Police' would have given the character much more emotional depth.
Seriously, he makes one face. One face! In every movie, for every emotion. How is he still getting jobs? It must be black magic. If you don't believe me, check out the scene in this movie where his character shows the first signs of an oncoming cold.
He sneezes. But this is no ordinary sneeze, like you or I would experience. This is a Keanu- Reeves-pretending-to-sneeze sneeze. It looks more like he's having a seizure.
