I really can't understand the hate about this film, because even though it's far from "Fargo", it is still a great labor of passion by the always unpredictable Coen brothers. Tom Hanks gave a very funny, but yet very effortless performance as GH Dorr.

The poetic lingual ability of Hanks' eccentric charcter is very unique, and simply just another display of great script by the Coens. The supporting cast was brilliant, removing all their seriousness and temporarily shifting into their screwball personas for their characters' great effect.

"The Ladykillers" have took a lot of beating from the critics and regular viewers alike, but even though it is far from the Coens' masterpiece (thought there are many) , "The Ladykillers" maintained its artistic sophistication and perfectly balanced black humor to topple all of those mainstream comedy films in the box-office today.

Boy, "The Ladykillers" is a brilliantly executed comedy, enough said.
