Review of The Ladykillers (2004) by Man With N — 26 Sep 2013
As genius as the Coen Bros. are, this is some serious shit. The only good thing about it is Hanks' pretty good performance, but it's only minor compared to the shitstorm he's in. Everybody else gives uninspired and just plain stupid performances. The plot is dull, the dialogue sucks and the style isn't their. It's unbelievable that the Coens made this. It's seriously one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life. Everyone is stereotyped beyond believe. Maybe that's what they were going for, but it doesn't work in their favor.
Even for Coen Bros. fans, stay away. It's insultingly bad. 2/10 stars.
