Review of The Lady Vanishes (1938) by Chris Z — 09 Aug 2009
The Lady Vanishes (1938) -- [6.0] -- In this paranoia mystery from director Alfred Hitchcock, a kindly dowager (Dame May Whitty) disappears from a moving train, leaving it up to one woman (Margaret Lockwood) to convince the rest of the crew not only that the old lady is missing, but that she ever existed at all.
Hitch keeps things moving at a good pace, adding a few layers of conspiracy and complication before the truth is finally revealed.
