Review of The Lady Vanishes (1938) by Jason B — 09 Oct 2012
That's much more like it. After suffering 'The Servant' my 85th BFI top 10 British films and possibly straight into my top ten ever. Hitchcock honing the tricks he would go on to use in later life, strong, funny and beautiful female lead character, Twists, humour, genuine who dunnit and (like most of the older films I'm discovering on this catch up) film techniques (editing, direction, acting, sound) that are far ahead of their time period and the equipment they were filmed on.
