Review of The Lady in the Van (2015) by Peter B — 12 Dec 2015

I spent 40 years of my working life in Camden Town and knew all the featured players in the film. Mrs Shepherd was a rancid old bat ,frankly, but we never knew her back story and it's to Bennett's credit that our sympathy is gradually stirred towards her.

I can vouch for the authenticity of the staging ,every scene is filmed where it happened and for those of us who were there at the time it's almost unsettling. A marvellous film made with integrity and style.
