Review of The Lady from Shanghai (1947) by Sean C — 18 Mar 2008
I always find it funny when American actors do Irish accents in movies because they are always so stereotypically over the top. Though, Orson Welles does better than most here. I've heard critics talk about how great the movie is and how hard it is to follow towards the end, but I didn't find it that different from a lot of the other film noirs I've seen before.
It's still a good movie. I especially like the grating way Grisby says "Tarr-get practice" and the way that Mr. Bannister always refers to Rita Hayworth as "lover.".
