Review of The Lady from Shanghai (1947) by Ryan G — 26 Mar 2011
The Lady From Shanghai is an artistic view of classic noir films before it. Written, directed AND acted by the sometimes infamous Orson Welles. This movie often challenges your mind and has you guessing the true goals of the movies antagonist (played by a wonderful Rita Hayworth).
As a movie from the golden age of American cinema, it is stunningly surprising how modern it is. With themes of betrayal, addiction, manipulation and even the power of lust. This film can resonate with anyone of every diversity.
