Review of The Lady Eve (1941) by James G — 10 Jan 2008
Very funny and morally ambiguous screwball comedy from the golden age. Henry Fonda has an endearing earnestness and intense awkwardness, while Stanwyck plays to her strength as the manipulative female with a certain vulnerability.
Look out for Eric Blore, who provided strong support as light relief in a couple of Astaire and Rogers comedy-musicals. Very entertaining.
