Review of The Lady Eve (1941) by David P — 11 Dec 2008
The first half of the movie was quite good. The acting wasn't anything spectacular, but it seemed to fit the movie. The problem with this movie is the writing in the second half of the movie. The story line seems to fall apart and take twists and turns that are both unnecessary and quite irritating.
It had the possibility of a great movie, but settled for mediocrity in the end. Interestingly, it was rather risque for the period. Barbara Stanwyck plays a con artist who uses her feminine charms quite readily, until she falls for the mark.
