Review of The Lady Eve (1941) by Oscar P — 04 Oct 2010
This is a romantic comedy from back when biting wit was a hallmark of good screenwriting. You have to get over the conceit that Fonda's character won't know Stanwyck's when they meet again, but that's part of the entertainment.
She gets her revenge only to find that she doesn't want it, and through all the back and forth you STILL want them to end up together. One of the best of the classics.
