Review of The Lady (2011) by Chihoe H — 15 Jul 2012
In truth this film is hard to dislike because of the subject but it fails to come to grips with the politics.
In fact it dodges or simply misses so many points that it should be a total failure, but the love story which seems to be its main target wins a lot.
However the Disneyfication of the subject ultimately stops it dead.
So much is missed out that I can't really see it as anything but a wet Sunday movie.
