Review of The Kite Runner (2007) by Yu R — 27 Dec 2011

So terribly sad, I read the book before I watched the movie....which I actually wasn't supposed to (watch the movie), because my mother had seen it shortly before I did, and basically forbid me to watch it, she said it was too graphic for me.

However, I chose to watch it, and.....was completely speechless. After the "thing" (trying not to spoil the movie) with Hassan, I literally bawled my eyes out, and then later on with Sohrab and Assef.

Kite Runner is a beautifully written book, and a wonderful movie, but only for people who aren't easiiy moved....i.e. not me! It's not too quick-paced and easy to follow (and yes, it does have subtitles).

I don't even know how to describe it...just a wonderful, very sad movie.
