Review of The King's Speech (2010) by Dustin M — 03 Aug 2012
I've been putting this off for a fair while as to be honest despite all the praise I couldn't really see what there was to appeal to me. It certainly won me over to a degree and mostly this is thanks to excellent performances by Firth and also surprisingly Bonham-Carter.
Their relationship feels particularly heartfelt and in fact it's with the personal relationships that this film really succeeds. I can't find anything to criticise it particularly (setting aside Guy Pearce as Colin Firth's OLDER brother?) it just isn't really my type of film, there's no doubting it's a success though.
