Review of The King's Speech (2010) by Meredith W — 08 Dec 2012
The true life story of the King's efforts to overcome his stammer is presented like a makeover narrative. Brilliant, a well-crafted movie, intelligent, yet not too arty. The perfect mix of pathos, humour and reality that comes with the telling of a true story.
Likeable characters, fine actors and a heartwarming story of unlikely friends. The superlatives are justified based on Colin Firth's performance alone.
