Review of The King's Speech (2010) by Gujo G — 17 Aug 2018
"The King's Speech" was one of the most superbly crafted films I have had the pleasure of seeing in a long time. I must admit that I went into the movie with low expectations. I mean, how good can a film about The KIng of England really be? But, needless to say, I was blown away.
Colin Firth gives the role of a lifetime. After seeing him play charming British gentlemen for all these years, it was nice to see him take on a role that shows power and the enormous amount of stress that goes with it.
He is troubled by so many different things, but he continues to emit confidence and pride for his country. But, in my opinion, Geoffrey Rush steals the show. Every scene he is in literally takes your breath away.
He has a real talent of being the comedic relief and carry a serious and dramatic supporting role at the same time. All in all, an incredible film. It deserves every Oscar it destined to win....
