Review of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) by Fedor W — 11 Jun 2009
Not many documentaries are edited to create such a clear storyline. This one was, and, completely true or not, it was a pretty engaging story. Many of the characters, however, were rather irritating and WAY to serious about their petty geek drama.
It was almost like seeing adult men pretending to be feuding high school girls. But over all of that, I really wanted to see the likable (although slightly neglegtive of his family) protagonist Wiebe take the record from Mitchell (who was portrayed as total Czeched luggage- no, that's not racist, it's a play on words).
It's an interesting story about a battle over a very insignificant title.
