Review of The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (2007) by Desi C — 11 Feb 2010
With all of the morals to learn from set aside, which there were plenty, this film still proved to be a joke. The fact that this maintains a a 96% popularity rating is a mystery to me.
It looked a lot like a soap-opera after awhile, and that's where I lost interest. The guy crying and looking off into the distance through the window didn't come across well for me. Seriously? Am I really watching this? All over a VIDEO GAME score? Gosh...what has society come too? Who was the brilliant guy who decided to document this?
Of course I wanted to Mr. Weibe to win, but come on. If this were a comedy, I'd have a totally different take on it, but it wasn't. It was an honest story of cheesy pixel competition. Certainly something I would want to tell my children.
I give this a 40% Tomato Rating.
