Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Nicolas A — 17 Dec 2008
I hear allot of people saying this movie looks like taxi driver, but the only thing that ive seen in this movie that looked like taxi driver, was DeNiro and Scorsese.
Directing: I really love Scorsese his movies, his style is just magnificant. You can really understand and feel what Rupert Pumpkin feels in this movie. Its all very nicely directed from what happens with Pumpkin and his fantasy's. The ending is also superb, I didnt tought I was going to see any of his stand-up comedy, but I did and I loved it.
Acting: Robert DeNiro plays a character other then most of his other Scorsese characters, and I liked it allot, I think its one of his better performances. But the best performance in this movie is the one of Jerry Lewis according to me, who was really perfect, I never tought a comedian like him could act that good.
